Throughout the year I have been collecting unused or broken pieces of technology. Anywhere from whole computers to keyboards, telephones to printers. When students were finished with their projects, they would help me take them apart and collect the bits that were small enough to use for our project..... CYBORG MASKS! What is a Cyborg, you ask? Well, the dictionary defines them as a person whose physical abilities are extended beyond normal human limitations by mechanical elements built into the body. We discussed real-life cyborgs such artist Neil Harbisson who hears colors with the help of an eyeborg, and the future of prosthetics. Students made masks using plaster gauze and painted them once they were dry. They have made collections of the pieces they'd like to use to create their cyborgs. I cannot wait to see how these turn out! |
